The Trossachs
A wonderful area that you might need to go to twice to enjoy all there is to see. This was once a wild frontier land, home to supposedly lawless clans. Countless writers, poets and artists have come to the area and its loch shores, mesmerised by stories of Rob Roy MacGregor and the clans who lived around these wild hills. Britons, Scots, Picts and Romans have all left remnants of their existence, though undoubtedly, it is Rob Roy who has captured the imagination of those who followed his life. About 40 minutes by car.
